Step-by-Step Guide to Customize Your Wedding Website Template

  1. Choose Your Template and Color
    • Browse Templates: Start by exploring the available templates on Lovebird. Look for one that resonates with your wedding theme, whether it's boho, rustic, classic, modern, or seasonal.

    • Select a Template and Color: Lovebird allows you to choose from a set of pre-defined palettes for your website. Once you find a template you like with a color palette that matches your wedding theme, click “Get Started.”
      • If you are still deciding your wedding theme, don’t worry! You can change your wedding website template at any time.
    • Next, you will be prompted to enter your names, wedding date, and location (date and location are optional if you don’t have those finalized yet) to start building your site!
  1. Edit Fonts
    • Go to the Design section of your dashboard to change the fonts used for your names, headers, and body text of your website. Lovebird offers many font pairing options to match any wedding aesthetic. (Tip: You can adjust the color palette here as well).

  1. Personalize Layout
    • Section Visibility: Lovebird offers the ability to show or hide sections of your wedding website on the Settings page. If you do not want to publish a certain section on your wedding website, simply toggle the switch next to the section to “Hide.”

  1. Incorporate Photos and Videos
    • Upload Images: Add personal photos to your site. These could be engagement photos, pictures of the venue, photos of the wedding party, or any favorite images that tell your love story and show who you are as a couple. You can upload photos to the following sections: Home, Schedule, Wedding Party, Gallery, and FAQ.

    • Upload Videos: In the Gallery section of your website, you can add your engagement video, a venue walkthrough, or a video message to your guests.
    • Captions: Add captions to any photos and videos in your Gallery to give a little more insight or context.
  1. Add Text
    • Edit Content: Write a warm welcome message to your guests, provide details about the event schedule, share travel and hotel information, and more! Publish all the information guests need to know about your wedding.
    • Formatting Tips: Use headings and bullet points to make the text easy to read. Keep your tone conversational and engaging.
  2. Preview and Publish
    • Preview Your Site: Before publishing, preview your website to see how it looks. Check for any inconsistencies or areas that need adjustments.

    • Make Final Adjustments: Tweak any final details, ensuring everything looks perfect before publishing.
    • Publish: Once you are satisfied with your website, publish your site and share the link with your guests!
    • Adjust When Needed: You can continue to make adjustments even after your website is published. If any plans or design preferences change, you can always log back in to make updates!

Tips for Customizing Your Wedding Website

    • Consistency is Key: Ensure a consistent look by using the same color palette and fonts throughout your wedding website, save the dates, and invitations.
    • Less is More: Avoid overcrowding your site with too much information or too many photos. Keep it simple and easy to navigate.
    • Stay True to You: Make sure your website reflects the personalities and styles of you and your partner. It's your special day, and your wedding website should feel personal and unique.

With Lovebird, you can create a wedding website you’ll be proud to share.
